Do You Install VELUX Roof Windows?
We can discuss VELUX roof windows for suitable roofs. The product, size and flashing need to suit your property, and we'll confirm what's included in the installation and the applicable warranty terms.
Can a Window Be Added to an Existing Roof?
It may be possible. The roof structure, position, covering and any relevant requirements need checking first. Adding a new opening involves different work from replacing a window that's already there.
Are Roof Windows and Flat-Roof Rooflights Interchangeable?
No. The window or rooflight needs to be designed for your roof type and pitch. We'll discuss the correct product and the flashing or raised base it needs for the installation.
Will the Quote Include Flashing?
We'll explain the flashing and other weatherproofing included in the installation quote. These need to suit both the window and your roof covering, so the unit price alone isn't the full cost of the work.
Can You Help with a Leak Around a Roof Window?
Yes. Tell us where the water appears, when it started and about any earlier repairs. We can look into the window, its flashing and the surrounding roof covering. Safe photos are useful too.
Is Internal Plastering or Decorating Included?
Only where we've specifically agreed to include it. We'll make clear what internal lining, plastering, decorating or electrical work needs to be arranged before the project starts.
Do I Need Permission for a Roof Window?
That needs checking for your property and the proposed window. Planning and building-control requirements are separate, and restrictions or changes to the roof structure may affect what's needed. Confirm these before work begins.
Can Roof Windows Be Installed During Re-Roofing?
Yes, where the roof is suitable. Mention the windows early so we can plan the openings, units and weatherproofing with the new covering, and agree any internal work.
